Location & Facilities

Gyp Hills Trail Ride camp is located 10 miles West of Medicine Lodge on Highway 160. Once you turn at the Gyp Hills Trail Ride sign, follow the dirt road for less than one mile to reach the campsite. We have several acres to choose from to host your campsite, as well as a showerhouse and meeting area with picnic tables.
For groups larger than twenty, we offer use of our Cowboy Cafe--a building stocked with refrigerators, freezers, stoves, microwaves, and running water.
Our campsites currently do not offer electricity hookups.

 

Facilities Include:

  • Open area available for equine games such as obstacle courses, barrel racing, broom ball, etc. Bring your own equipment or use of Trail Ride equipment is available upon request.
  • Shower house with electricity, flushing toilets and private shower stalls
  • Spacious camp site area that will accommodate even the biggest rigs
  • Equine pens are available for rent with advanced reservations
  • Shaded meeting area with picnic tables
  • Use of Cowboy Cafe for groups of 20 or more
  • Tour guided Trail Rides available upon request

New in 2017:  The Pouting House

The Pouting House is a rustic cabin with two queen beds available for rent. The cabin's decor features a custom built eastern red cedar loft, and other antique turn of the century trimmings. The Pouting House has been modernized for your comfort including heating and air conditioning, microwave, BBQ grill, and refrigerator. It includes a private outhouse and access to the shower house in the Trail Ride campsite. Equine pens are available next to the cabin for an additional rental fee.
The Pouting House is located approximately 2 miles north of the Trail Ride campground.

Medicine Lodge Attractions

The town of Medicine Lodge is a short drive away, and includes a grocery store, local restaurants, gas stations and a hotel. If you do make it into town, be sure to check out everything it has to offer!
